If you are not happy with how your shotgun patterns (espically with steel) try finding a slower load.  Many times shooting faster loads destroys the ingerity of the pattern.  It may also be helpful to try different choke tubes with different constrictions along with different ammo.  Keep  your patterns and label what ammo with what tube and you can change it up from hunt to hunt.  Bottom line is to have confidence in yourself and know how your gear perfoms!  Happy hunting and shoot straight!
